The French subtitle is this: "Vous n'êtes qu'une brute sauvage au teint jaune." Translating rather literally it's "You're nothing but a savage brute with a yellow complexion."
I don't really see what the big deal is, I'm sure I'm way off on other lines. Besides, the Engrish is what he really says anyways, if we translate from the Japanese subtitle you're actually making it less accurate in a way. So I don't think there's any need to change anything.
No, trust me, this is a major mistake. "You're just a rude, pale animal" does not come close to "You're just a rude, yellow animal." And if you are using French subs, then it shouldn't take less than a second to check the Engrish lines you wrote with what the subs say.

I was just going by what he says by ear in English. I don't translate from Japanese so I don't know what the Japanese subtitles actually say.

I'm not saying you need to change it per se, but the insult has lost some of its impact this way.
